The term “High Roller” got a whole new meaning in Las Vegas when the world’s tallest observation wheel officially opened in Sin City last month.

The 550-foot tall High Roller, which soars above Las Vegas at a height that beats the London Eye by 100 feet, debuted as part of the Vegas skyline on March 31 after more than two years of construction.

Up to 40 passengers can soak up the city from above from any one of the High Roller’s 28 glass-enclosed cabins, with a maximum capacity of 1,100 people at any one time. The 30-minute ride starts with a video and music show that fades into the Las Vegas skyline and surrounding landscape as passengers ascend along the wheel.

Even from the city streets, the High Roller is an impressive sight come nightfall, thanks to the LED light show the wheel puts on. With unmatched views of Las Vegas from above as it glows with neon lights under the night sky, rides on the High Roller in the evenings are slightly more expensive.

The observation wheel is part of the new LINQ entertainment, dining and shopping center by Caesars Entertainment. The High Roller is located across from Caesars Palace, tucked between Flamingo Las Vegas and The Quad Resort and Casino. Tickets start at $24.95.
