Cleveland Hopkins International Airport was forced to close this weekend due to severe storms across Ohio and the Northeast.
Due to heavy snowfall over most of the weekend, the airport closed down on Saturday afternoon. The site is now open again and airlines are working with officials to get schedules back to normal.
Todd Payne, Spokesperson for Cleveland Hopkins, explained that 200 flights were cancelled on Saturday, adding that passengers should check their itineraries before setting out for travel today (Monday, March 10).
Several airlines waived fare change fees in light of the weather. JetBlue said flights to and from New York JFK, LaGuardia, Newark, New Jersey, Newburgh and White Plains in New York State could face delays.
Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz also canceled flights in Ottawa and Toronto, with schedules expected to return to normal later today or tomorrow morning (Tuesday).
Passengers traveling in all affected regions have been advised to check flight details online before heading to the airport.
