Seems lots of carriers are focusing on Florida and Vegas these days, inaugurating new routes and offering discounts.
Here’s what’s up:
- Frontier intends to launch nonstop seasonal Kansas City flights to Orlando Jan. 15, 2012. A quartet of weekly flights will operate through April 12. Southbound Kansas City flights to Orlando depart at 2:40 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and arrive at 6:20 p.m. Orlando flights to Kansas City return the same day, pushing back from the gate at Orlando International at 6:50 p.m. and getting to MCI (that’s Kansas City’s airport code) at 8:59 p.m. Frontier is offering an introductory deal on the run: $79 each way.
- Meanwhile, Allegiant is forging more new routes from small-town America to brighter lights and bigger cities. The discount airline just inaugurated nonstop Owensboro, Kentucky to Las Vegas. As with many of Allegiant’s routes, this one is twice-weekly affair. Westbound Owensboro flight to Las Vegas depart at 12:20 p.m. Mondays and Fridays, and get to the gate at McCarran International Airport at 2:10 p.m. Return Las Vegans flights to Owensboro leave early, at 6:10 am. They arrive Owensboro at 11:35 a.m. Allegiant too introduces this route with a sweetener: an $89.99 one-way rate. Purchase it by Oct. 19.
- Aeromexico just began linking Las Vegas nonstop with Guadalajara. There’s a pair of weekly sojourns, on Thursdays and Sundays. Southbound Las Vegas flights to Guadalajara depart McCarran International at 2:35 p.m. and arrive at 7:45 p.m. Return Guadalajara flights to Las Vegas leave at 11:50 a.m. and arrive LAS at 1:25 p.m.
