Travelers using Rapid City Regional Airport (Web site: www.rcgov.org) spend longer at security checkpoints than others in the state of South Dakota.
This is according to the Transportation Security Administration which found that passengers at Rapid City spent 11 minutes at security during Thanksgiving week in 2007, compared to nine minutes in 2006.
Officials told the Rapid City Journal that similar wait times can be expected throughout Thanksgiving week this year.
Cameron Humphres, Executive Director of the airport, said: “We just need to get to the place where we have two lanes.
“Nobody likes to wait in those lines; they’re no fun for anybody. So obviously we want to reduce it to the minimum time possible.”
