There’s nothing quite like a fountain to set your mind at ease. The soothing sounds of water rolling from tier to tier and the mesmerizing visuals of streams, jets and trickles flowing about make these landmarks a popular sight, and it’s no wonder you can find them in dramatic forms around the world.

Some fountains are best known for their shows, like Chicago’s Buckingham Fountain, which incorporates lights and sound during the summer months. The Bellagio in Las Vegas is another fountain best known for its spectacular performances, which are considered one of the best free shows you can catch on The Strip. Other fountains have become national symbols, like the Merlion statue in Singapore. And many are considered renowned works of art, such as the Trevi Fountain in Rome.

Sit back, relax and enjoy this photo tour of fountains around the world.
