Venezuela’s Canaima National Park is a lesson in extremes. The country’s second-largest national park is teeming with sweeping savannas and moriche palms, all set beneath the dramatic flat tops of the table-top mountains (tepui) that line the region. These striking peak-less mountains are also home to the world’s tallest waterfall: Angel Falls.

Towering at more than 3,000 feet tall and boasting a 2,648-foot plunge, Angel Falls is one of the most impressive waterfalls in the world. You may even recognize a very similar-looking waterfall in the animated film, “Up;” Angel Falls reportedly inspired the fictional Paradise Falls featured in the movie.

Take a look at the beauty of Venezuela’s Angel Falls.
