A sun-dancing praying mantis, a family of clowns jamming and the Taj Mahal at sunrise are some of the images included in the National Geographic 2014 Photo Contest. National Geographic is accepting entries in three categories – people, places and nature – until October 31.

Up for grabs, for the Grand Prize Winner, is $10,000 and a trip to NG headquarters in Washington, D.C., to participate in the annual National Geographic Photography Seminar in January 2015. The First Place winner in each category will each receive $2,500 and his/her winning photograph will be published in National Geographic magazine.
