It’s true what they say: The economy is getting better, little by little. And with the upswing in financial comfort, comes a boost in business travel, according to the National Business Travel Association.

In 2010, we should expect an increase in business travelers packing up their briefcases and hitting the road (or, the sky) to meetings all over the country. Why? The NBTA predicts that since most businesses are reaching a satisfying level of revenue, they will no longer hesitate to send employees on trips.

Furthermore, while flights and rental car costs are happily staying at an even low, the NBTA thinks that hotel prices might get even lower, which makes a quick stay in another city financially doable. The bottom line is that the travel volume growth for 2010 is a direct connection to the economic recovery trends.

We looked around to find some of the most convenient spots for business travel in the US. In its 2009 Business Travel Awards, Concierge.com did a report on business travel, saying that these are among the top favorite US airports for business travelers.

Washington DC (Reagan)
Portland, Oregon
Tampa
Minneapolis-St. Paul
Orlando
Salt Lake City

Find a cheap flight to any one of these cities, and say goodbye to teleconferences and hello to business trips.
