Get ready to hit the snooze button: March 10 is National Napping Day. But why settle for your couch when there are so many siesta-worthy places around the world?

Grab a blanket and pillow and check out these eight nap-worthy spots around the world.

Central Park, New York, N.Y.

Sure, Central Park gets its share of foot traffic, but that doesn’t mean you won’t find plenty of grassy fields to spread out for a mid-day nap. This sprawling park is bursting with acres of tranquility where you can stake out your siesta spot.

Hyde Park, London, England

London’s Hyde Park is one of the city’s most picturesque public green spaces, filled with fountains, lakes and gardens that set the scene for an afternoon of relaxation. With 350 acres and more than 4,000 trees, it won’t be hard to find a shady spot to rest your eyes.

Melbourne Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, Australia

Set on the banks of the Yarra River, the Royal Botanic Gardens offer a napping backdrop that’s fit for a king. Stake out a patch of grass overlooking one of the 88-acre gardens’ lakes and let the soothing calls of the native birds be your lullaby.

Kauapea Beach (Secret Beach), Kauai, Hawaii

You’ll feel like you have the entire island of Kauai to yourself on Kauapea Beach, better known as Secret Beach for its seclusion. Only the Hawaiian sun and the rhythmic roar of crashing waves will escort you to dreamland.

Shoal Bay Beach, Anguilla

Anguilla is well known for its secluded and low-key beaches, but for a truly undisturbed nap, head to Shoal Bay Beach. Pink-hued sands and crystal-clear blue waters beckon you to stay for a lazy afternoon.

Taveuni, Fiji

When it comes to napping in public, you can’t go wrong in Fiji. Check out the island of Taveuni for some tropical rest and relaxation.

Lundy Island, England

The Celtic Sea is a calming sight as you nap atop the green cliffs of Lundy Island, overlooking the waters.

The Maldives

Take your pick of the 26 atolls that make up the Maldives, known the world over for its picture-perfect beaches. Dig your toes into the white sugary sand and let the clear turquoise water be the last thing you see as you enjoy a nap in paradise.
