There has been a trend in recent years for name-brand restaurant chains to set up shop at airports. Witness what’s happening at Chicago O’Hare International (ORD), the second-busiest airport in the land. Fly through Terminal 3 and you’ll now find a new Romano’s Macaroni Grill to sate your pre-flight appetite (remember, airlines don’t serve a lot of food aloft anymore).

The grill is located post-security in Terminal 3, on Concourse H-K near Gate K2. There you’ll find traditional Italian favorites, and some that allow you to eat Italian without the pasta-laden guilt. Consider “Sensible Fare” options such as Pollo Margo Skinny Chicken, a grilled honey-glazed chicken breast. Maybe Simple Salmon, accompanied by tender crisp asparagus and broccoli. Wash it down with a glass of white vino and perhaps it won’t matter all that much if your flight is delayed.

Romano’s Macaroni Grill serves up breakfast too, and the fare is fascinating. Try the Cinnamon Orange French Toast, or if you don’t want to be weighed down for the flight ahead maybe a Fruit Medley.

Chicago O’Hare, a major hub for both United Airlines and American Airlines, has been making real strides in its culinary offerings in recent years.
