Passengers who are to be picked up at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) can now send free text messages to the person collecting them.

The service, entitled FlightAssist (Web site: sfo.flightassist.com), provides passengers and visitors with information on flight times, delays and cancelations through text messages.

Passengers and visitors can then communicate with each other on when and where they should meet.

The solution, which went live before today’s Thanksgiving holiday, is designed to reduce waiting times and congestion at airports.
