Passengers will be able to pass through security more quickly at Oakland International Airport, Washington Reagan and Washington Dulles.
All three airports are to get Clear security lanes for use by pre-registered passengers. Oakland will become the 17th airport in the U.S. to introduce the system on Thursday (March 27).
Travelers with Clear passes, developed by Verified Identity Pass Inc, will be able to use the express security lanes, which the airport suggests will benefit business passengers.
Rosemary Barnes, Spokesperson at Oakland Airport told The Business Times: “We did this in response to customer surveys, which have shown that people really want us to offer this option.
“We’ve gotten lots of input, especially from representatives of large companies who travel at least a couple of times a week.”
The rollout at Oakland will follow the introduction of Clear security lines at Washington National and Washington Dulles International last Wednesday (March 19).
