Access to a great airport lounge can make all the difference on a long transoceanic flight. They’re places to relax, refresh, and reenergize for the trip ahead.
EVA Air, the expansive Taiwanese carrier, has occupied a new $5 million, 8,000-square feet affair at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). It’s located on the fourth floor of the north wing of the Bradley International Terminal, post-security. That’s good because it means you can treat yourself after running the security gauntlet.
The lounge is open to EVA’s Super Business and Super First Class fliers as well as its Premium Laurel Class, and Silver, Gold, and Diamond Card frequent fliers. That takes in a lot of territory.
The enclave seats 186 passengers. It’s fitted with Wi-Fi, a business center, and individual workstations with laptop hookups. The lounge has its own lavatories, with showers, a nice touch for transpacific fliers.
There’s a full bar and an area that serves up sushi, sandwiches, fresh fruit, and snacks. There’s also an array of flat-screen televisions about to catch your favorite game, or a bit of news, before boarding.
This is one of four mega-lounges at LAX, designed to afford flyers as much as 72 percent more space than those previously operated by individual carriers. EVA shares this one with eight other non-affiliated carriers.
