It’s National Spa Week, which means you have an excuse to treat yourself to a soothing soak in hot mineral water this week. But if your day spa budget is running a little low, don’t worry. We’ve rounded up some of the best destinations for affordable mineral baths. Here’s a quick guide to some of the best and most affordable destinations for mineral spas around the world.

South Korea

Visiting a public bathhouse, or jjimjilbang, in South Korea is just a part of modern-day life. Jjimjilbangs usually feature several mineral-infused baths and saunas, both hot and cold. Baths and saunas are also infused with minerals like jade for added health benefits. Admission is typically less than 12,000 SKW and you can stay for the day or overnight.

Desert Hot Springs, California

This Southern California resort destination sits on top of both hot and cold natural aquifers, and dozens of local spas have tapped into these healing, mineral-rich waters to fill their pools. Many spas can be visited on a per-day basis for less than $40.

Japan

You can soak in Japan’s natural hot springs, or onsen, for as little as 1,000 yen in some areas. The Hakone region, in particular, is known for its natural hot springs.

Germany

The spa town of Baden-Baden is well-known for its thermal baths. Visitors can soak in mineral water and enjoy the dry saunas for roughly 21 Euros for four hours.
