Ah, Valentine’s Day.

For some, it’s the epitome of all things warm and fuzzy, a day for you and your beloved to declare your love and shower each other in flowers, balloons, cards and sweet surprises. For others, it’s the holiday they love to hate. If your point of view on Valentine’s Day falls into the second category, escape Cupid’s reach (or at least find fellow singles) with these three anti-Valentine’s Day weekend getaways.

Boston, Mass.

Escape the clutches of the pink balloons, red roses and chocolate candies that overwhelm every drug store and shopping mall in February with a weekend getaway at Boston’s Nine Zero, a Kimpton Hotel that’s celebrating everything anti-Valentine’s with its “Bleeding Hearts” package. Grab a few friends for this four-person package, which includes a themed dinner at the onsite Highball Lounge, a six-month subscription to Match.com, a $100 in-room dining credit and even a “Grow Your Own Boyfriend/Girlfriend” kit.

Las Vegas, Nev.

Sin City has plenty of ways for you to tell Cupid to get lost. Just look past the drive-thru wedding chapels and take your pick of the poolside and rooftop parties happening all across Vegas on Valentine’s night, such as the Voodoo Rooftop Nightclub or TAO at the Venetian. Don’t forget to celebrate your anti-Valentine’s Day sentiment by catching a risqué show like Thunder From Down Under for the ladies or X Burlesque for the guys.

San Diego, Calif.

You’ll find plenty of ways to drown out the siren’s song of Valentine’s Day in San Diego. One of the city’s best anti-Valentine’s Day parties is held at The Shout! House in the singles-friendly Gaslamp Quarter, where the theme of the night is “Love Stinks, So Let’s Drink!” Drinks and appetizers are half-price all night, and a dueling piano bar goes all night. On Feb. 15, make an entire weekend out of cupid bashing and head to the Hard Rock San Diego for the Audio Playhouse Anti-Valentine’s Day Party.
