The last thing you want to do after an exhausting trip is wait in another line. You’ve been there, and done that, especially at security. Soon, if you frequent either of Houston’s two commercial airports — Bush Intercontinental (IAH) or Hobby (HOU) — you will be able to get out of the parking lot faster.
This rapid exit is pegged to EZ TAG. The Harris County Toll Road Authority and the Houston Airport System are promoting the pass as a fast, automated way to pay for parking at IAH and HOU. A lot of Houston area residents already have EZ TAG, using it to pay for toll road passage around town.
There will be EZ TAG lanes at each airport. The system works just as it does on the toll roads. Vehicles displaying an EZ TAG can start using the system at Bush Intercontinental and Hobby on March 30. The former is Continental Airlines’ major domestic hub; the latter a prime focus city for discount airline Southwest.
Harris County Toll Road Authority EZ TAG customers who don’t want to use the new airport service can opt out by going to www.eztagstore.com, or calling 1-281-875-3279.
