Wichita Mid-Continent Airport has been praised by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its commitment to safety.

The Kansas airport received the Airport Safety Enhancement Award at the FAA Region Conference in Kansas City, reports The Wichita Business Journal.

This is the third time Mid-Continent has gained a perfect score in the FAA’s annual airport safety inspection.

Victor White, Director of Airports at the FAA, said that the airport has “a conscientious and hard-working staff dedicated to making safety their number one priority each and every day”.

Frontier Airlines launched flights from Wichita to Denver on October 1, providing passengers with connections to destinations in the west.

The new service offers three daily flights between the two cities, with the route to be ultimately served by new Frontier subsidiary Lynx Aviation.
