If you’re planning on checking out Las Vegas’s ultimate foodie weekend this May, you’d better buy your tickets – and quick: The eighth annual Vegas Uncork’d by Bon Appetit is quickly selling out of tickets to cooking demos, tastings and wine pairings at this celebrity chef-studded affair.
Held from May 8-11, the Mother’s Day weekend event takes over several Vegas resorts over four days, bringing celebrity chefs like Bobby Flay, Nobu Matsuhisa, Mario Batali and Buddy Valastro to the public at Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, the Bellagio, the Venetian and ARIA.
“Four days in the Las Vegas sun celebrating 70 of the world’s best chefs, 20 of the most talented Master Sommeliers and 50 amazing events is my perfect weekend,” says Bon Appétit editor in chief Adam Rapoport.
Although tickets to the four-day foodie weekend went on sale just two weeks ago, popular events sold out within hours. Events that sold out nearly immediately included a sushi, sake and ramen tasting with chef Nobu Matsuhia at Caesars Palace, a dinner experience with Guy Savoy and a cooking and wine demo with Joel Robuchon.
A popular addition to this year’s event, “Fire and Ice: A Flame-Grilled Feast Over Cool Cocktails,” saw additional tickets released as promoters expanded the event’s capacity. Tickets are still available for you to watch chef Royden Ellamar of Sensi at the Bellagio cook meats and vegetables with fire, ash and smoke while mixologist Ricardo Murcia serves poolside cocktails that incorporate both fire and ice.
Plus, there’s still time to secure your spot to one of the weekend’s must-attends: the poolside Grand Tasting at Caesars Palace on Friday, May 9. Featuring more than 50 award-winning chefs and more than 100 wines and spirits from around the world, this signature event concludes with an after party at FIZZ Las Vegas. Tickets are still available to some of the weekend’s other flavorful events, including an East-Meets-West night market, chefs’ tastings, a poolside pig roast and beer garden with Chef Michael Mina and an Italian dinner hosted by Rao and the Pellegrino Family.
“Las Vegas continues to redefine the essence of epicurean excellence by offering the most comprehensive collection of distinguished chefs, Master Sommeliers and celebrated restaurants in the world,” said Cathy Tull, senior vice president of marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. “This year we are thrilled to welcome additional resorts, chefs and unique, one-of-a-kind experiences to Vegas Uncork’d by Bon Appétit, as it provides our guests with unparalleled access to legendary chefs and sommeliers in truly intimate settings, while showcasing Las Vegas as the culinary mecca it has become.”
