If the two events they’ve got planned today are any indication, London’s cyclists have become a little bored with their everyday routes!

At 3:30pm Saturday afternoon, around 1,000 cyclists will assemble at Hyde Park Corner for a nine-mile tour of London’s landmarks. ‘So what!’ you say. Did we mention the dress code is “As Bare as You Dare”?

The annual World Naked Bike Ride UK aims to raise awareness of oil dependency and cycle safety. We suspect it will raise some awareness of chaffing tomorrow too!

The ride is open to all and will take place whatever the weather. If you’re uncomfortable with the idea of being an all-out ‘traffic-stopper’ yourself, rest assured full nudity is optional.

Later, around midnight, hundreds more will cycle a 100-km route around London under moonlight in aid of charity.

This tough Nightrider challenge circumnavigates London, taking in around 50 virtually deserted versions of the city’s most iconic spots.

Unfortunately this year’s event is already full. If it sounds like your kind of thing, register your interest for the 2013 event on their website.

Both events are part of Bike Week in the UK, where almost half a million people will partake in cycling events across the country.
