Due to Windsor’s extensive parks and recreational activities, many visitors choose to plan their trip here in line with the city’s warmest months which are July and August. However, since the weather can get quite hot and humid in the summer, the fall months of September through to November are also an appealing option for slightly cooler temperatures. A notable seasonal attraction here has to be Windsors’ impressive Summer Fest – a 12 day celebration to mark Canada Day on July 1. The festival takes place along the impressive waterfront and includes magnificent firework displays and activities for all the family.
With most of the city’s sightseeing opportunities accessible by foot, getting around the city and exploring its many attractions is no problem for those who enjoy strolling and taking in the view. If you’re planning to stay in downtown and take in the main hub of activity, then the city’s transport system has a few good routes if your feet start to tire. However, for those wishing to venture to all of Windsor’s iconic sites and possibly explore Detroit too, then renting a car would be advisory for convenience and expense.
