When I arrived to check in at Myrtle Beach, the employee for Breeze Air said I did not pay for my carryon bag. I explained to her that I paid for an upgraded ticket that included one carryon bag. In NY that Friday, the employee was vey understanding and allowed my carryon at no charge. In Myrtle Beach, the employee and supervisor made no attempts to help me. They made me pay $40 for my carryon. In addition, there was no complimentary coffee. I asked for coffee and the steward said they should have told you at checkin there was no coffee, only water. I was very disappointed with my experience. Glenn Lee, P.O. Box 105 Southport CT 06890.

The local bus network will ferry visitors between the towns and villages of the Westchester region, but the city itself is small enough to walk around with ease. Cycling is encouraged as well, but as with many American destinations, it is recommended that visitors rent a car. This will make is possible to reach New York and attractions like Niagara Falls in a few hours.
White Plains is well connected to Westchester County Airport (HPN), and visitors have a number of choices when getting to their hotel. Many hotels will offer a shuttle bus, but there are plenty of local taxi firms and minibus providers as well. They should meet every flight, but book ahead to ensure that you have space. For many though, renting a car will be the best way to go.
Westchester County Airport (HPN) is just three miles (5km) from White Plains in New York State. It is close to the New York-Connecticut border and just 33 miles (53km) from Manhattan.
Flights to Westchester County Airport are available from several cities across the United States. Some of the more popular routes are to Atlanta, Orlando, West Palm Beach, Chicago and Detroit. Interestingly, Westchester County Airport caters for a significant number of corporate planes.
Westchester County Airport has a great location, the staff are helpful and when there is only one flight arriving or departing the queues aren’t long and you get in and out quickly. However, if more than one plane is arriving or departing then the airport can get quite crowded. In short, it’s a great airport to use if you’re not planning to spend a great deal of time there, as the facilities are modest, with only a few shopping and dining options.
