Very crowded flight. Staff brought refreshments regularly and the food was surprisingly good. But checking was very slow and they allowed way too many people with large suitcases on board making onboarding and off-boarding very slow and chaotic.

Famous for its beautiful coral reefs and perfect windsurfing conditions, Hurghada is a popular summer vacation destination for people all over the world. Located on the Red Sea, this is a very busy resort town, offering a wide range of facilities, attractions and landmarks, from the nearby Giftun Islands and Eastern Arabian Desert to local beaches for diving and snorkelling. This dynamic city offers something for everyone to enjoy, including families, honeymooners and more mature visitors. The old quarter at El Dahar is accessible on foot or by cab and it is here where you can begin to unravel the history of the city. Spa hotels are plentiful in the city, so soak up the sun at La Reve, the Palm Royale in Soma Bay or the Jungle Aqua Park Hotel.
Horse riding in Hurghada is another great way to appreciate this wonderful region and Sahara desert tours are a must-do activity. Two aquariums make it possible to learn about the marine life in the area and are a great day trip for families with children. Adrenalin lovers can do a desert motorbike tour with Bike Egypt and for great food and drink after sightseeing and shopping, you can enjoy one of the great restaurants on the marina or in downtown. Cafés and bars dot the area and there is a bouncy castle to keep the kids entertained while you sip a cocktail and take in the sunset.
The city of Hurghada features a sub-tropical desert climate, which makes the winters very mild and warm and the summer very hot. July is the hottest month in the city. December to February are warm, November to April slightly warmer and May to September are hot or very hot. Sea temperatures range from 69 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit. The best time to visit the city is probably between October and April, when temperatures range from 68-86 degrees Fahrenheit and it’s sunny. This is peak-time in the city as is the festive season and school vacation periods. Prices are much higher during this time. Summer prices are cheaper but it is very hot and uncomfortable in the city. Summer is a great time for ocean lovers to enjoy diving and snorkelling.
Summer is very hot in Hurghada, so if you want to enjoy desert and other outdoor excursions it is best not to do it during this time. Summer prices are, however, cheaper than those of the spring and fall months (March to May and September to November) and is an ideal time to visit if you want to swim, snorkel, dive or do some angling along the coastline.
