DO NOT BOOK WITH SIXT! I searched for “Free Cancellations” and it showed me a car that was not free to cancel. I didn’t notice that it showed me an incorrect result and it locked me into an expensive car. I entered my flight details prior to our flight to Mallorca, on the day of the flight we were told we would be delayed - I checked my online booking and saw that my flight details were still there (so I felt safe that Sixt would know we were going to be late). Upon arrival the lady said our car was given since we weren’t here on time. We were 5 hours late I admit but my booking was prepaid! When I told her my flight details were entered she said they were not there. On the spot, I looked as well and mysteriously they were gone. I’m absolutely sure I did not delete them (I was only viewing the details of my booking, and not editing). Anyways she said they were almost all out of cars so I would have to upgrade and pay the difference. This ended up being DOUBLE the cost of my original booking. Stranded on Mallorca we had no choice. But NEVER AGAIN! Granted the lady was nice and empathetic but if I have a booking for a car and it’s PREPAID my car (or some car of the same level) should be held for me for the duration of my booking for whenever I’m there to collect. I often need a rental car and this is the first and last time I’ll use Sixt. I have used other companies in the past and have never had a problems like this. It was a horrible way to start a vacation. This is the first and last time I’ll book with Sixt.
