The car was clean and well maintained.

I did the pick-up at the West Hollywood location and the drop-off at the LAX airport. Drop off was completely fine but the pick-up experience was awful. First, I reserved the car starting at 10 am but I was not seen by anyone until almost 11 am. Second, both the manager and the person at the counter were awful. I am an international student and I have rented cars when traveling several times, but no place was so problematic (to say the least) when inspecting my documentation. Not only were they saying they would not rent me a car because of some made-up law which is in no place on their website at the moment of making the reservation (or a law of the state of California which they were claiming it was), but they had the dare to inspect my passport, make copies of my ID page AND VISA -which is extremely irregular-, and suggest I was not allowed to rent and that "I should know better". Third, after they "generously" decided to rent me the car, it turned out, they did not have the car I had reserved for and they were trying to get me to pay 75 USD extra PER day, instead of giving another car for the same price rate -which they ended up doing after I insisted I was not paying extra, nor I would wait two extra hours (additional to the hour and a half I was already paying for while sitting at their office). Finally, the car they gave me had only one-quarter of a tank of gas, when it is supposed to be full at the moment of pick up. In sum, awful. Never again.
