Paying for coffee on a Swiss flight of approx 3hrs. I would’ve expected, that Ryan Air charges….or maybe a charter flight. But 4CHF for a cup of coffee is just another reason, that Swiss (and subsequently LH Group) has lost touch with frequent travellers by a landslide.

Namibia, Africa’s youngest nation, is bordered by Angola, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa and is divided up in four geographical regions – Namib, the Skeleton Coast, the Kalahari Basin, and Kavango and Caprivi.
Namibia’s landscape is lined with deserts, forests and coastal scenery, and the country’s natural resources are bountiful.
Many travelers book flights to Namibia each year to see the diverse cultures and enjoy the beautiful 300 days of sunshine a year. But those travelers booking flights to Namibia should know this country is not without its struggles. Despite its political unrest and cultural crisis, Namibia maintains its resort-like status for many travelers and relies on tourism to fund the small nation.
Most travelers book flights to Namibia’s resort areas during school vacations and South African holidays, but the country welcomes Namibia flights any time of year.
Namibia is hot; very hot. This desert country can see temperatures of 104 F in the summer. It’s a bit cooler on the coast.
Booking flights to Namibia between November and February means light thunderstorms and showers, but its year-round draw makes Namibia a great choice no matter when you decide to travel.
Peak Season: Namibia is considered a year round destination, so while some winter evenings can drop below freezing, temperatures typically sit between 64-77 degrees F. Especially if you book flights to Namibia between May and September, the weather will be pleasant and commensurate with game viewing.
Off-peak Season: Less travelers book flights to Namibia during the summer months of October and April because the 100-degree weather is enough to drive most tourists back inside for the day. If the heat doesn’t bother you, then it’s the perfect time to find great deals and cheap flights to Namibia.
For domestic Namibia flights from Eros Airport to Ondangwa, Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, Luderitz, Oranjemund and Katima Mulilo, Air Namibia is your best bet.
For another Namibia travel option, train service runs to South Africa through the Shongololo Express, as well as other companies like Bushveld Train Safaris, Rovos Rail, and Desert Express. Schedules are available at all stations, and overnight sleeping cars can be arranged for longer distances.
The Interscape Mainliner run bus service between bigger towns, and connects with Johannesburg, Cape Town, and South Africa.
